Class Title:   The Ins and Outs of Print Competition

What does it take to win at print competition?  Come find out!

This class is designed to give you an understanding of the print competition process.  We will take you thru the whole process – including the “12 Elements of a Merit Print” used as the standard for print competitions around the country by PPA judges.  There will be something for all to learn.  Glen will cover the basics -(mounting, matting, final sprays etc.)- but most of the class will concentrate on critique of award winning photographs and the elements that made them great.  You’re going to love this class!

Glen is an award winning and renowned Utah Valley photographer.  He was the first professional photographer in Utah Valley to earn both his Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  He has earned several awards for his photography over the past several years and maintains the status of Certified Professional Photographer.  He is an IPPA Fellow – twice.

Glen has owned and operated a photography studio in Utah Valley since 1979, opening his “dream studio”  in 2002.  He moved his studio from Orem to a remodeled historic home in American Fork, where he continues to provide family portrait and wedding photography.  His fine classical style of portraiture keeps him at the top as a leading photographer in Utah Valley.  His master techniques in posing and lighting, as well as print manipulation help him to get the very best possible photographs. Many of his photographs have been displayed in print shows throughout the USA, including Disney’s Epcot Center.  But, his favorite displays are the ones that hang in the homes of happy clients throughout Utah Valley as well as throughout the U.S.  Glen is known also for his fine portraiture, wedding and business photography as well as fun senior portraits.

Glen is a past president of the Intermountain Professional Photographers Association (IPPA) and served on the board for several years.  He has served as IPPA treasurer and also participated as a member of the print committee and chairman as well as a print show judge several times.  He is actively involved in the local community.  Glen, his wife and six children reside in Lindon.
